A true gem of a steal from Kent Hughes and the Canadiens

Now that the second day of the draft is over, we can finally look to the future.

The Habs have made a few contentious selections, but there's one that's pretty solid, even if it's already being dubbed the potential steal of the draft.

20-year-old Russian defenseman Bogdan Konyushkov was selected 110th overall. In 64 KHL games, he accumulated 25 points, which is excellent for a rookie.

"At just 20 years old and in the KHL, Bogdan Konyushkov ranked No. 1 on his team among defensemen for assists (23).

That's still impressive."

This could be a great move on Kent Hughes' part, when it's said that the defenseman would have been selected in the 1st round had he been Canadian or American.

Plus, his KHL contract is up in a year. To be continued...
