As the Jets took on the Kings tonight young Jets forward Cole Perfetti took a dangerous hit from Andreas Englund.

Englund Lays Dirty Hit

Towards the end of the second period, Englund made a dangerous and frightening hit on one of the Jet's best young forwards, Cole Perfetti. Perfetti got hit from behind, square in the numbers, face first into the boards. There was no call on the play.

The play now lies in the hands of the NHL's Department of Player Safety, who will be the only ones that can give Englund any kind of punishment for the play since the on-ice officials refused to do so.

Englund Drops the Gloves With Samberg

The Jets players were quick to respond when the officials didn't as Dylan Samberg quickly squared up against the perpetrator. Unfortunately for Samberg though, he did not perform very well in the fight.

Oddly enough, Perfetti ended up in the penalty box after the fight ended. TO add insult to injury, Samberg was given an instigator penalty as well, which constitutes a game misconduct penalty and an automatic fine.

Andreas Englund hits Cole Perfetti in the neutral zone. Perfetti was turning and went head first into the boards. Dangerous, dangerous play.

Dylan Samberg fought Englund on behalf of his friend and the Jets are on the PK... And Cole Perfetti is sitting in the box?
