As we've told you over the past few days, Joel Armia is no longer part of the CH's plans. Unfortunately for Kent Hughes, his contract of 3.4 million a year for two more years is very hard to pass. However, a fairly major trade proposal has just surfaced, as the Washington Capitals are in a similar situation with Quebec's Anthony Mantha. They are desperate to trade the forward in order to save money, as he is earning 5.7 million for another year. Here is Blain Potvin's proposal. Capitals trade Anthony Mantha to Montreal Canadiens trade to Washington: Joel Armia It would make a lot of sense for both teams, as the Caps would save 2 million right now on their mass and the Habs would have one less damaging contract to deal with for the 2024-25 season.

Canadiens Should Target Capitals' Mantha & Offload Armia

From our @BlainPotvin_THW https://t.co/DFvpmQOIbg- The Hockey Writers (@TheHockeyWriter) June 5, 2023
