The Boston Bruins are having a tough couple of months. First they lost to the Florida Panthers in humiliating fashion in the first round, then their top two centers in Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci are leaning towards retirement, and now they appear to be losing a quality goalie due to a trade request.
Swayman Wants Out
Adding salt to the aforementioned wounds, it looks like Jeremy Swayman has requested a trade away from Boston. Swayman was a huge part of Boston's record-breaking season last year, forming the leagues most effective goaltending duo with Linus Ullmark. Now it appears that Swayman is tired of playing second fiddle, and wants a chance to be a Number One.

Tough Situation
This puts the Bruins in a bind, as they don't appear to have another NHL caliber goalie on the roster. They lack good prospects in net, and Michael DiPietro appears to be next in line if they don't sign a veteran in the offseason. DiPietro posted a 2.61 goals against average and a .918 save percentage for the ECHL's Maine Mariners. The Bruins will look to accommodate Swayman's request.
