The Carolina Hurricanes have announced today that they have released goaltender Jaroslav Halak from his professional tryout with the team. The #Canes have released goaltender Jaroslav Halak from his free agent tryout.

The #Hurricanes are releasing goaltender Jaroslav Halak from his professional tryout.

Halak was acting as the team's third-string goaltender, and did not play a game.

Halak has played in over 500 games in his NHL career. His release from the Hurricanes strongly indicates that his NHL career is coming to an end, as the 33-year-old will have to re-evaluate if he is able to make an NHL roster next season or hope another team becomes desperate for a goaltender.
