A significant development has unfolded in the lead-up to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, particularly concerning Russian athletes.

Russian and Belarusian Athletes Granted Eligibility for Upcoming Olympic Games

Athletes aspiring to participate in the Olympic Games will have the opportunity to do so.

According to the International Olympic Committee, athletes holding Russian or Belarusian passports will be allowed to register as Individual Neutral Athletes.

"The Executive Board (EB) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided that Individual Neutral Athletes (AINs) who have qualified through the existing qualification systems of the International Federations (IFs) on the field of play will be declared eligible to compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in accordance with the the conditions outlined below. Individual Neutral Athletes are athletes with a Russian or Belarusian passport."

Like all other athletes, they will be required to agree to and abide by the Conditions of Participation specific to Paris 2024, which include a commitment to the "peace mission of the Olympic Movement."
