Big development surrounding Mike Hoffman surfaces

At the Montreal Canadiens, several names are likely to leave the team by March 3rd and one of them could possibly be Mike Hoffman.

If there is one certainty in the Tricolore, it is that Kent Hughes wants to trade Hoffman by the trade deadline, without having to pay or withhold salary to move him.

If the 33 year old veteran's performances were not really convincing since the beginning of the season, in the last few games, they are much more interesting for a team that wants to add an offensive punch at low cost.

Despite his $4.5M per year salary for yet another season, it would appear that Hoffman's value is on the rise.

With nine points in his last 10 games, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, discussions surrounding #68 could pick up in the coming days.

"The Canadiens have had discussions with some teams about Hoffman's availability in the past, and after a recent spike in performance, teams may be back on him, as TFP's David Pagnotta acknowledged Monday morning on TSN 690 in Montreal.

Teams looking to bolster their offense are weighing their options in terms of acquiring a player on an expiring deal or someone with a certain term remaining, under which Hoffman would fall." - Via The Fourth Period

By the way, depending on how the market develops in the coming days, the Seattle Kraken, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights are teams that could be interested in him.

Let's wait for March 3rd!
