After being severely criticized yesterday on social networks, Max Domi explains his lack of interest

For those who didn't know (like me), yesterday's game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Chicago Blackhawks was Max Domi's first game at the Bell Centre since his trade in late 2020.

For the occasion, as tradition dictates, the organization prepared a nice tribute video to highlight his time with the Tricolore.

However, what caught the attention was the lack of enthusiasm of the main person concerned, who did not even look up at the board. It was only when his teammate pointed out that he was on the screen that he quickly greeted the crowd.

Needless to say, social networks severely criticized the former CH number 13, saying that it was a lack of respect on his part.

"I loved him, but this was classless."

"Too bad he didn't bother to watch the video and gave a weak wave of the hand when he heard his name at the end. #pathetic"

In short, many fans have pointed out the lack of reaction of Domi and the latter was keen to rectify the situation. He says he simply missed it, while taking care, via his Twitter account, to thank the Montreal fans.

I completely missed this live video. Thank you so much for the warm welcome from the Canadiens fans. So many great memories in MTL and it was truly an honor to wear this jersey for 2 seasons! I love you guys and wish you all the best! Thank you Montreal!"

Quite frankly, now that it's been over two and a half years since Domi left Montreal, even we've all forgotten that this was the first time he stepped on the Bell Centre ice since his departure.

Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
