Back on June 28, the future didn't look too bright between the posts for the Canadiens. A few weeks later, the CH drafted three goalies and added Casey DeSmith to its roster. So now there are four goalies with NHL contracts, and Kent Hughes will have some decisions to make. The easiest is to send Cayden Primeau to waivers, but what about the other three? Observers agree that Samuel Montembeault will remain with the team, even if he deserves the number-one spot. Jake Allen or Casey DeSmith will have to be traded, and Georges Laraque has his own idea of what will happen. I don't think any teams will be interested in Jake Allen. - Georges Laraque Sure, with a 3.55 GAA and .891 save percentage in 42 starts last year, Allen hasn't justified his $3.85 million salary for two more seasons. He's an excellent veteran and a good mentor for Monty, but I can understand why Laraque thinks no team will be interested.
