There is a lot of movement in the NHL right now as many of the league's teams, mostly in the Eastern Conference, have made major additions to their rosters for the post-season and playoffs.

One team that has yet to make a significant move is the Pittsburgh Penguins. But this could change very soon.

Indeed, according to the information reported by the excellent David Pagnotta, there would be very serious discussions between the Canucks and the Penguins about Brock Boeser.

Sidney Crosby's team desperately needs to add some offensive punch if they want to compete with the big clubs in their division.

Pittsburgh announced their intentions in the last few days, by submitting forward Kasperi Kapanen to the ballot to free up $3.2M. The latter has been requested by the St. Louis Blues.

The Penguins repeated the move today, trading not one, but two players: forward Brock McGinn and defenseman Mark Friedman. With this move, the Penguins could save over $3.5M on payroll, should they be claimed.

This organization has no choice but to make a move, and the acquisition of Boeser would be a great move to add some offense to the roster.
