With the salary cap barely going up in recent years, NHL teams are having a hard time signing depth players and the number of UFAs is increasing as the season begins.

This is the case for P.K. Subban, who would normally have signed a contract by now.

According to Renaud Lavoie, who appeared on Mario Langlois' show on the Cogeco network, Subban will not sign a contract under $1.5 million for one season. According to him, the defenseman should instead hang up his skates and go work as an analyst for ESPN.

Everyone who knows P.K. knows how good he is in this area and that his post-career is already mapped out for him. In fact, he was an analyst in May during the playoffs and he looked very good.

The fact is that number 76 could make a lot more money being an analyst than playing field hockey according to Renaud Lavoie.
