The Edmonton Oilers were the most shockingly bad team to start the season this year. It was so bad that the team famously fired head coach Jay Woodcroft even after the team won a game against the Seattle kraken. Now new head coach Chris Knoblauch has the team playing to their best potential.
Knoblauch Pulls The Oilers Into The Playoff Race
Before Knoblauch took over, the Oilers were 7th place in the pacific division with a 3-9-1 record. Since then, the team has gone 10-3, improving their record to 13-12-1 and shooting up the standings in a weak Pacific division. The team is now 4th in the division although they remain nine points back of the LA Kings for 3rd. Part of the reason for their success has been Knoblauch's new defensive structure.

Everything has been going right for the Oilers since the coaching change was made. Their star players are performing up to their normal standards and they've gotten much better goaltending from Stuart Skinner.

The Oilers have without a doubt looked like a different team under Knoblauch. Since taking over, they are not only 10-3 overall, but they are also a perfect 8-0 at home. That does mean that the team is just 2-3 on the road since he's taken over, but the team will gladly take that trade at this point this season. The team is also on a season-high eight-game winning streak. 🚀 EIGHT W'S IN A ROW 🚀 The #Oilers secure the 4-1 victory over the Blackhawks at @RogersPlace. #LetsGoOilers

At this point the Oilers have gotten themselves back into a wildcard spot by points percentage. It only seems like a matter of time before they are back in a top-three spot in the Pacific division.
