It's really great to see what goes on behind the scenes at an NHL draft. The report on the Canadiens is a real treat, and we got a lot of information from watching it. Our analysis is almost complete, but we couldn't leave out a rather major scene, where the hockey men debate why they finally selected Reinbacher. At the end of this scene, we hear Jeff Gorton say: So that's where we're at? We now have Reinbacher ahead of [player X] on our list, for everyone? So that means there was another player at the top of the list, but his name was censored in the edit. The way they're talking, we think it's Matvei Michkov we're talking about, and we're not the only ones. Canadiens scout Christer Rockstrom explains why the Canadiens should pick Reinbacher over X player (which could be Matvei Michkov given the context), saying it would be easier for the Canadiens to get X player outside the draft.... Your thoughts? - Habs Fan TV In other words, the Habs' decision to select Reinbacher is because they truly felt he was the best player available and that another player like Michkov would be more readily available on the trade market. Rockstrom even goes so far as to say that the teams that win the Stanley Cup all have Reinbacher in their ranks. You can watch the clip below. Do you think it's Mishkov?
