Since the last round of cuts on Monday, we now know that the very first pick in the last draft, Juraj Slafkovsky, will start the season in Montreal. The Slovakian is currently being used on what could be identified as the Tricolore's third line, along with veterans Christian Dvorak and Brendan Gallagher. An interesting fact is that he is not used on either wave of the power play, even though his vision, size and shot would be great assets. When asked about this, the Habs head coach had this to say: « I see him (Juraj Slafkovsky) as a power play player, but I want him to watch and learn first. Also, keeping him off the power play for now will help him manage his energy well and use it more effectively at five-on-five. - Martin St. Louis

Those are wise words from St. Louis, who will take the time needed to make sure he doesn't skip any steps in the young Slafkovsky's development.
