Dominique Ducharme will have only been a head coach of the Montreal Canadiens for a short time, but he did have a playoff run in 2021 with Luke Richardson.

The Habs lost the quarter-final series 3-1 to the Maple Leafs and came from behind. In Game 7, Ducharme knew from the start that it was in the bag.

"Game 7, first period it was 0-0 and I knew we were going to win." - Dominique Ducharme

The former coach justifies it by saying that no other team has as much pressure as the Maple Leafs. The mental hurdle is huge. In that famous seventh game, the body language of the Leafs' players had already confirmed to him that the Habs would win the series.

We all know what happened next, when the Habs lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final. It was the beginning of the end for Ducharme himself, but also for Carey Price and Shea Weber. Let's not forget Joel Edmundson and Paul Byron, who have also been struggling with injuries since that famous road to the Stanley Cup.
