It's often said that great people are recognized by simple gestures, which make all the difference. Carey Price wasn't much of a talker, but he did the right thing away from the cameras. That's what Dominique Ducharme noticed when he became the CH's interim head coach. As he finished his speech to the players for the first time as coach, just after Claude Julien's dismissal, Carey winked at him, and then gave him a pat on the back. It may not sound like much, but for Ducharme, it was a huge confidence booster. What followed was a tremendous run to the Stanley Cup Final. Even then, the team wouldn't have come this far without number 31. Now an assistant coach in Vegas, Ducharme admits that the Canadiens' elimination of the Golden Knights in 2021 weighed in the balance. He'll now have a solid group of players to work with, as well as being assistant to Bruce Cassidy, one of the best coaches in the business.

Relive the CH's success in 2021 through the eyes of Dominique Ducharme. 👀

To listen to the full episode 👇https://t.co/WUrZqjk6s4

🎙️ @AlexKoop pic.twitter.com/AHBSmvlUdO- Radio-Canada Sports (@RC_Sports) August 3, 2023
