Now that the Golden Knights have won the Stanley Cup, the Canadiens knows their fate and will draft 31st with the Panthers' pick. It was at this very moment that we got the news that Kent Hughes would be very aggressive to get the 4th pick of the San Jose Sharks and thus possibly draft Will Smith. Earlier in the week, the Sharks invited young Smith on a guided tour of the city, and we wondered if this was a strategy to attract the attention of the Canadiens.
