Fighting in ice hockey, in particular, has been a long-standing debate, with some arguing that it is an integral part of the game and others advocating for its removal. While there are rules in place to regulate fighting, the reality is that it still occurs and can have severe consequences. In fact, studies have shown that fighting in ice hockey can lead to various injuries, including concussions, fractures, and even death.

Yesterday during an ECHL game between Maine and Norfolk, things got heated and a scramble of fights were happening on the ice. However only one caught our eye, and that is the player who is throwing these massive haymakers on the opposing players skull.

The ECHL player's behavior is not only unsportsmanlike but also dangerous. The opposing team player who is shielding himself is essentially defenceless, leaving him vulnerable to serious injury. The force of a haymaker punch can cause significant damage, and repeated blows can lead to long-term brain damage.

It is important for players, coaches, and league officials to take measures to prevent and discourage fighting to ensure the safety and well-being of all those involved.
