Arber Xhekaj has really impressed since the beginning of training camp. The young giant defenseman has no complexes at the NHL level and he proves it every time he takes the ice. Sure, Xhekaj makes mistakes and he will make more, but it's never for lack of effort or for trying a risky play. The world is starting to believe that number 72 could make it with the Habs this year, even though journalist Eric Engels had some interesting things to say when he was last on BPM Sports: « Even though you see Guhle up there, my friend Marc-Andre Perreault was saying something today that was interesting. Guhle is the big jewel of this group, so maybe if you send him to the AHL to get his minutes up, he could be at a whole new level when he gets to Montreal. I think he's up there with the others. If I have to pick another one, because for me, he's starting in the NHL, and I'm not even sure he's going to go to Laval, he's going to be in Montreal for the whole year, it's Arber Xhekaj. He's a guy that comes in with a little bit of an edge to his game that we don't have, especially with Joel Edmundson not being here. I think he's the most ready, unlike the others. - Eric Engels

This is quite a statement from Engels, who covers the Habs for Sportsnet.
