Erik Karlsson Rumoured to be Traded to Leafs, But There's a Catch.

Could EK65 End Up Back in Canada? Erik Karlsson seems destined to leave the San Jose Sharks with each passing day. Both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes have been linked with his services in recent weeks, and so have the Toronto Maple Leafs. According to longtime NHL insider Eklund on his HockeyBuzz website, the Sharks feel as if the Leafs could offer the most attractive package in return for the Swedish blueliner. Unfortunately for the Buds, that'll likely mean moving one talented Swede for another. The big Domino [sic] here is Nylander and Toronto. I believe the Sharks like the Leafs package the most, but so far only Pittsburgh and Carolina have actually figured out ways to make the money work. The Leafs can't consider this without moving Nylander and unfortunately for them everyone knows this, there is no immediate rush yet Hockey fans should take most things Eklund says with a grain of salt, but it appears as if the Leafs are loathe to move Nylander in a trade despite the lack of progress between the two in terms of an extension. Regardless, it'll be intriguing to find out who wins the Karlsson sweepstakes. As seen on HockeyPatrol
