The Calgary Flames had high hopes for this season making significant changes following the departures of Sean Monahan, Johnny Gaudreau, and Matthew Tkachuk. Flames General Manager Brad Treliving traded Tkachuk with the Florida Panthers, bringing in Mackenzie Weegar and Jonathan Huberdeau, and also signed Nazem Kadri as an unrestricted free agent The team believed that they were even better than last year's team, which made it to the second round of the playoffs but was swept by the Edmonton Oilers. Unfortunately, the Flames did not have a successful season, finishing with a 38-27-17 record and placing fifth in the Pacific Division, resulting in them missing the playoffs. Many hockey insiders are now suggesting that if Treliving doesn't replace head coach Daryl Sutter, the Flames could lose their top stars once again. Specifically, Kadri and Huberdeau, who recently signed long-term deals with the Flames, may decide to leave. <div align='center' style='padding-top:20px;padding-bottom:20px;'><img src='https://i.marqueur.com/habsetlnh/i/photo/254865.webp' width='100%' border='0' alt='image' loading='lazy' defer /></div> <h2> Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli shared this on the issues between players and coach Sutter:</h2> <q> His decision to send Nick Ritchie in on a season-deciding shootout was just the piece de resistance on a season full of head-scratching calls from four months of Jonathan Huberdeau on the right wing to weeks of Milan Lucic in the top six. The handling of Jakob Pelletier and «What number is he?» rubbed the entire organization the wrong way. There are believed to be at least a handful of players expected to voice their disapproval at exit meetings, if they have not done so already. They'll voice them to GM Brad Treliving, who does not have a contract for next season. Could Calgary actually continue with Sutter as coach? One could be back. Neither could be back. The only thing we know is change is coming in Calgary. - Frank Seravalli</q> No one can say that Sutter isn't a good coach he's done it all when it comes to coaching but there's obviously a rift between Sutter and his players meaning Brad Treliving has some serious decisions he needs to make before next season. <div class='youtube_container'><iframe class='youtube_video' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/7b87Q97UmrM' width='100%' loading='lazy' frameborder='0' title='' allow='autoplay; fullscreen' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> <div class='youtube_container'><iframe class='youtube_video' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/UgmTFO2KrNQ' width='100%' loading='lazy' frameborder='0' title='' allow='autoplay; fullscreen' allowfullscreen></iframe></div> Credit:<a href='https://www.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/flames-players-voice-their-disapproval-at-coach-sutter-returning-for-next-season' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>HockeyFeed</a>
