Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse at Hockey Canada, new information has surfaced and it's not pretty. According to The Globe and Mail, there is a second multi-million dollar fund to cover sexual assault lawsuits, taken from taxpayers' pockets. The fund is called the Participant Legacy Trust fund and the money would be used for a number of things, including lawsuits. The amount is $7.1 million. The existence of this fund was not declared during the preliminary investigation, which is also a problem. The Participant Legacy Trust Fund was supposed to close on May 15, 2020, but Hockey Canada and its members went to court in 2018 and 2019 to change the maturity date to 2039.
