Adam Fantilli, an 18-year-old Canadian NCAA player, is getting a lot of attention in hockey circles, as people speculate about his position in the upcoming NHL draft.

Maxime Truman of BPM Sports suggests that Fantilli may not be selected second overall, as many have speculated, but rather third or fourth.

Fantilli has always been ranked second in all major rankings and predictions, but due to his disappointing performances in international competitions such as the World Championship and the World Junior Championship, many believe he could slip a few spots.

"With his disappointing performances on the international stage, Maxime Truman thinks Adam Fantilli could drop in the next draft."

"Everyone is putting him second in June at the Nashville draft, I don't think he'll come out second. I think Carlsson and/or Smith will come out before him, and if I had money to put down, I'd put Fantilli 3rd or 4th, not 2nd.

I don't think he's going to slide down to fifth with the Montreal Canadiens, that would be too good a story." - According to BPM Sports

This would be a major development that would allow teams like the Montreal Canadiens to get one of the best players available, even if they have the fifth overall pick.

The Anaheim Ducks would have the final say in this situation, but it's possible that Kent Hughes might be tempted to move his 5th pick up a spot or two to try for a major coup.

Fantilli had an exceptional season with 30 goals and 65 points in 36 NCAA games. These figures haven't been reached in almost 10 years, so it will be interesting to see what happens on draft day.
