The series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs may have just taken a turn. Game 1 went in favour of the Lightning, but Michael Bunting of the Leafs made a dangerous hit to the head of the Lightning defenceman Eric Cernak.

Cernak had to be helped off the ice, and did not return to the game, or any of the next games. Cernak's absence has been noticed by the Lightning, as they have failed to win a game without him in their lineup. Now, Lightning Coach Jon Cooper has confirmed Cernak will not return for Game 4, however he did not say that Cernak was out for the rest of the series. There may still be hope for the Slovakian defenceman.

Tampa Bay will desperately await their defenders return, but they know they cannot risk further injuring Cernak.
