The NHL Department of Player Safety has come under criticism of late after handing down lenient punishments including the Sam Bennett cross-check to Michael Bunting during the Leafs vs Panthers series. Now the Carolina Hurricanes are hoping for a suspension to New Jersey Devils forward Tomas Tatar after a dangerous slash to the head of Hurricanes' star Sebastian Aho. The incident happened during the 1st period of game three between the Hurricanes and Devils, when Tatar would retaliate after being hook slashing Aho the side of the head knocking him down. This has to be a suspension no question about it.
