Many of us were surprised by Martin St-Louis' decision to go with Jake Allen for the first game of the season in Toronto. It was a controversial decision from every point of view.

As a result, many journalists labeled Allen number one, but not so quickly. It's true that most of the time, the starting goalie will start the season, but when the home opener is three days later, he'd be expected to play as well.
