We've been playing the same tape for two years now, but it's even more noticeable this season: the Habs have too many forwards. While we've lacked depth at center for years, we now have the opposite problem.

With Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach, Sean Monahan, Christian Dvorak, Jake Evans, Alex Newhook, and youngsters like Owen Beck knocking on NHL doors... that's a lot of people to shop around.

According to Marc Dumont, the CH's former content creator, Jake Evans could well be the player sacrificed. In a question-and-answer session, a fan asked him a very pertinent question.

"Does the organization see Jake Evans as part of the club's long-term future, or could he be considered dispensable with the arrival of Owen Beck? It would seem that Evans would be an excellent addition for a competitive team like Edmonton."

Marc responded with some sensible explanations.

"It's pretty tough, especially given the tremendous effort he's put into getting to the NHL, but I don't think Jake Evans is in the team's long-term plans, especially when they're ready to be competitive.

His underlying stats are very weak, and his production is spotty at best."

It's safe to say that Evans isn't essential to the CH's success. He's in his 1st NHL organization, but it wouldn't be surprising if he moved around quite a bit in the years to come.
