It seems anytime the Calgary Flames are brought up nowadays, it is always decorated with some new, fun, and exciting news. The last few days have definitely been an indicator that Calgary is turning the page and moving to the next chapter in their book. Not only has the city of Calgary approved the building of a new arena for the Flames, but the organization is also reconstructing their front office, with a new GM set to be appointed in the near future. Flames legend and hall of famer Jarome Iginla has not held back on who he believes is the right candidate for the job. And that choice is not too far. Craig Conroy has been the assist GM in Calgary since 2014, and Iginla believes he is finally due for a promotion.

As per Sportsnet 960, here's what Iginla had to say: I believe we have a great guy there in Conroy. (...) I'm excited, I really hope he gets it. I think he'll do a great job. He loves Calgary, he hasn't left, he always comes back. Iginla continued: He was always a guy that cared about everybody, and it's so important for a team because some guys come (to the rink) and they work and are focused and lead by example, some guys they're great personalities around the room, great jokesters and bring a team together that way. (Conroy) was a combination of both. He worked really hard, he was committed to it, but he was always a glue guy. He always knew what was going on with everybody in their lives and made them feel a part of the locker room, and if someone wasn't feeling good, he'd find ways to pick them up. The decision rests with Calgary's new president of hockey operations Don Maloney.
