While appearing on Tony Marinaro's Sick Podcast yesterday, Montreal Canadiens VP of Hockey Operations Jeff Gorton answered many interesting questions about his club, while remaining very transparent.

In particular, he discussed the Cole Caufield contract extension, where he revealed some interesting details about what's next for a new deal with the Montreal fan favourite.

A little later, he addressed another hot topic when he was asked about the CH's vision for forward Kirby Dach.

Once again, with very nice transparency, Gorton revealed that the organization still strongly considers the number 77 to be a center and not a winger.

Is this good news or bad news? At first glance, fans are not thrilled with this information, as it would mean that he will eventually be removed from the trio with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, with whom he is all fire.

On the other hand, it should be mentioned that the experience is still very young and even if the chemistry is working at full speed right now or even this year, it is possible that next year it will be another winger who can better fill this trio.

In fact, there are almost only advantages to having the 21-year-old Habs forward be so versatile. He can play several positions and it is possible that he could become as good at center, with good wingers to support him this time.

Also, with the possible addition of new elements to the lineup, it is possible that the club could get their hands on a big center player that would allow them to fill that position in place of Dach and allow Martin St-Louis to keep him on the first line of the team.
