Jeff Petry is in Montreal because he turned down a deal elsewhere

It came as a surprise to everyone when we learned that Jeff Petry was back with the Habs.

Barely a year after being traded, he's back, and it's not at all what he and his family had hoped for. However, he assures us that he will behave like a professional if he isn't traded before the start of the season.

All this could have been avoided if Petry had accepted the offer to leave for the Sharks. San Jose was on his list of 15 teams and he refused to lift his clause, forcing Dubas to deal with Kent Hughes and the Habs.
