Much like P.K. Subban and Shea Weber, who have been compared at length since the trade between the Habs and Predators, Juraj Slafkovsky and Shane Wright will also be compared at length, especially in Montreal. Joel Bouchard has played the game and according to him, the Habs' forward has the upper hand over the Kraken's forward: Slafkovsky is a very nice project. He's a nice profile of a player forged for the playoffs. However, it's going to take time, because Juraj doesn't have an outstanding quality that stands out besides his size. Just to be clear, the Habs made the right choice in selecting Juraj. We shouldn't think the CH made a mistake. Shane Wright was left out in Seattle in the second game of the schedule and it was very difficult for him in his NHL debut. Slafkovsky is way ahead of Wright. You have to be patient and take your time. Patience will be the key in Slafkovsky's case. It's true that aside from his size and work ethic, Juraj doesn't really dominate in other aspects of the game. However, the 2022 draft was relatively weak and at the time of writing, no generational talent was present.
