Tonight is the famous first round of the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville.

At last, the wait for this highly promising draft is drawing to a close. While Connor Bedars is guaranteed to be drafted at the very top of the draft, it's a completely different story for the others.

So much so, that new information has just surfaced. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Ducks could spring a surprise and not select Adam Fantilli at #2.

Elliotte Friedman, on the 32 Thoughts podcast, talks about the Ducks and how they're a team to watch tonight:

"This guy (Pat Verbeek, their GM) can do anything. You have (talking to Marek) someone texting you that he could take Michkov (Anaheim) and I think that's credible."

That would leave Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson or Will Smith for the Habs. Knowing that Hughes has a solid fondness for Smith and that he's ranked lower than Fantilli and Carlsson, the Habs could be in for a treat.

Nevertheless, it's tonight that we'll finally know the fate of the Canadiens and the order in which the players will be drafted.
