The general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes, was recently questioned on RDS about the organization's prospects at the last World Junior Championship. He mentioned that he and his scouting team were very satisfied with the performance of the Tricolore's prospects. Where it gets interesting is that Hughes also stated that his scouts were obviously watching the performance of the young players eligible for the next draft, including the phenomenon Connor Bedard. When asked to clarify his comments on the future first overall pick, his answer was perfect and meant everything. As we would expect, he was unable to hold back his excitement and interest in Bedard, and with good reason. The Habs GM unsurprisingly called Bedard a very special player and is well aware that it would be a huge privilege to have a talent like him in his organization. However, he added that he is waiting for the lottery before dreaming about the young Regina Pats sensation. Check out his reaction here which provides a great segment:

Credit: Fanadians.com
