The tranquility at a Florida airport was disrupted following a Hurricanes fan's disturbing threat against Florida Panthers players via social media.

In response to the threats, law enforcement agencies swiftly stepped in to provide protection and escort the team out of the airport.

Threats on Social Media: Beyond a Joke

Social media has been mostly a blessing since its rise in the regular life of society. It's a fun place to interact with friends and share opinions that everyone across the world will see. Unfortunately, since social media is available to pretty much everyone, there are plenty of idiots who misuse and abuse it, to either be rude, hateful or in this case, criminal.

A case in point was when a Hurricanes fan recently decided to go beyond mere banter and made a so-called "joke" that implicated a threat to the life of Florida Panthers Radko Gudas.

Evidence of the Threat: A Disturbing Picture

The evidence that accompanied this threat was a tweet containing a photograph of Radko Gudas' residence and a pipe bomb. The implication of the message was nothing short of chilling - it suggested that the perpetrator intended to bomb Gudas' house.

Police Intervention and Immediate Action

The police were on standby to ensure the safety of the Panthers, providing them with an extra security as they left the airport.

Consequences: Legal Action on the Horizon

Even if the tweet was just a simple «dark joke» it's more than that, it's a threat joke or not. Being that it's the internet, there's absolutely zero way to tell if someone is joking or not when it comes to tweets like that and it's always better to be safe than sorry, the culprits will likely face serious legal consequences.
