Logan Mailloux Case: Paul Byron plays a key role in his development and a major statement from the Canadiens' defender

We're seeing Paul Byron more and more at the Canadiens' practices. Currently, he is still on the ice at the CN Sports Center in Brossard, dressed in a tracksuit with the CH colors.

A few weeks ago, Kent Hughes was asked about the possibility of hiring Byron, and his response was very encouraging. The two men were supposed to meet in September to discuss it. So that would be very soon, if it hasn't already happened.

Although Paul is not yet ready to definitively hang up his skates and still believes a return to the game is possible, he already seems to play an important role for the youngsters, even though no announcement has been made about a position and he is no longer affiliated with the CH.

Not only is he very present in the team's entourage, he goes even further in his dedication. The Byron family welcomed Logan Mailloux into their home in Brossard. The young defenseman arrived a month ago. An excellent mentor for the young man.

Furthermore, Mailloux is not in town to play tourist. He has a goal in mind and will do everything to achieve it. He's confident.

"I'm going to be very frank with you guys, I came here to get a spot in the Montreal Canadiens' lineup this season."

Of course, it will be difficult for him to carve out a spot this year, as there is a logjam at that position. However, a surprise is always possible, and he has surrounded himself with the right people to help him in his quest for the NHL.
