The Habs selected David Reinbacher with the 5th overall pick in the latest draft. The Austrian has left a fine calling card, but he's hiding something very important. The defenseman is suffering from a disease that attacks his knees. Maxime Truman confided that the young defenseman has problems with both knees. In fact, this is because he has Osgood-Schlatter disease, a common cause of knee pain in children and teenagers. The disease causes crumbling cartilage and bone in both his knees. At the team's last development camp, Reinbacher had splints on both knees because of his condition. It's very worrying, but if everything remains under control, there shouldn't be any after-effects at the end of his growth. We don't know if the Canadiens were aware of this before selecting him, but we hope they were. If his illness ever gets out of hand, it could be a very bad choice.

He has an illness that causes frequent pain in his knees → https://t.co/XWWnks2GVN- DansLesCoulisses (@DLCoulisses) July 18, 2023
