Following the shocking revelation about the possibility of new expansion teams coming to the National Hockey League, journalist Chris Johnston has revealed a new and interesting information and the Montreal Canadiens could be affected by this announcement.

"The Edmonton Oilers will host the famous Heritage Classic outdoor game in 2023, and their opponents could be the Montreal Canadiens." - Chris Johnston

It's worth remembering that this matchup will mark 20 years since the very first Heritage Classic, which was once played between the Habs and Oilers. It was the famous game where Jose Theodore went out in mythical fashion with his CH toque installed on his helmet.

The NHL would be making a nice nod to this landmark moment in the league if it announced that it would be a Montreal-Edmonton duel. Let's just say that the show would be particularly enjoyable to watch if the CH was indeed the opposing team to play the Oilers.

More details will follow!
