Coyotes defenseman Matt Dumba has always been one of the more outspoken players in the league and now he's shared his thoughts on the pride tape ban. <h2>Dumba Calls Out NHL</h2> Dumba recently talked with the media, sharing his thoughts on the whole pride tape ban fiasco. He came across as frustrated and annoyed as he disclosed his thoughts about the situation. <q>Why is that even a thing? Why did they have to do that in the first place? You'll never get the answers from them. You'll never get the answers for that. That's just something I've come to understand. They don't have answers for a lot of things that they do. They follow and try to save face.</q> The reversal of the ban came just three days after Dumba's team mate and fellow blueliner Travis Dermott became the first player to openly defy the policy by using pride tape on his stick in the Coyotes home opener. The NHL has since remained silent on the topic, refusing to provide any explanations for their decisions. <h2>Dermott Pleased With Ban Reversal</h2> Meanwhile, Travis Dermott spoke to the media to address the league's reversal of the policy. It's just given the players their voice back. If everyone wants to wear it, if one guy wants to wear it - no one is going to be forced to wear it - but now just having that voice, I think, really speaks volumes into what the league thinks of us, what the league thinks of the community, and really backs up their line that hockey is for everyone. It seems unlikely that such a rapid and dramatic reversal in policy could have been possible without a player openly defying it as Dermott did.
