Many Canadiens fans were disappointed not to hear the name Matvei Michkov come out of Carey Price's mouth at the draft last June. In the end, it was David Reinbacher who was chosen, and we finally got the chance to see the famous behind-the-scenes report on this selection, as well as that of Jacob Fowler. The report was released last night. It's pretty clear that Michkov was just never in the team's plans. The only other candidate competing with Reinbacher was Ryan Leonard. I think he was talking about Michkov in that clip. I also think their final decision came down to either Leonard or Reinbacher. - Grant McCagg As many of you know, McCagg is a former scout for the Habs. So he's been around a similar table before, working for the same interests. We tend to believe him.

I think he was talking about Michkov in that clip.
