Times are tough for the Canadiens, who have finished bottom of the standings for the last two years, and there's no sign of that changing this season. To think that two years ago, the CH reached the Stanley Cup Final, in a rather bizarre campaign and an even more different playoff format. A photo has just surfaced, clearly indicating that only seven players from that edition remain on the current team, two whose future in Montreal is far from guaranteed. Here are the seven players in question: -Nick Suzuki - Cole Caufield - Brendan Gallagher - Josh Anderson - Jake Evans - Joel Armia - Jake Allen Note that the last two names, Jake Allen and Joel Armia, are expected to leave by the end of the season. In the case of number 34, he has a two-year contract, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him leave before the trade deadline or next summer.

Only seven left https://t.co/uEok4VjflM pic.twitter.com/sBcENrFs3a- james (@koivuhabs) July 9, 2023
 Credit:

The observation is striking → https://t.co/hvq0L13a4N- DansLesCoulisses (@DLCoulisses) July 10, 2023
