After the recent banning of Pride Tape by the NHL, Morgan Rielly gave this statement in support of the Pride movement.

NHL Bans Pride Tape After Controversial End to Special Movement Jerseys

Earlier this summer, the NHL announced that they would be putting an end to specialized jersey celebration nights, where players wear warmup jerseys in support of movements like Pride or the Military. This was the result of a select few players who voiced their opposition to wearing Pride jerseys.

This was instantly hit with some pushback from players, as many support the Pride Movement. Now, the NHL is taking it even further.

Morgan Rielly Speaks Against NHL Decision to Ban Pride Tape

The NHL took their decision one step further this week, announcing the banning of Pride Tape, a way that many NHLers show their support for the movement beyond just the jerseys.

Columbus is having their pride night tonight - both John Tavares and Mitch Marner are playing with pride tape on their sticks. :)

Morgan Rielly recently spoke about the NHL's decision, and let fans know that his support for Pride will not waiver in light of the decision.
