Anthony Bitetto decided to retire from the NHL.

He was drafted 168th overall in 2010 by Nashville . He scored 31 points in 197 NHL games with the Predators, Wild, Jets and Rangers since then.

He published the following statement on Instagram

"The time has arrived for me to bid farewell to the game I hold dear, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible journey I've been on. Words can hardly express the depth of my appreciation for the people I've crossed paths with during this remarkable journey. Each day on the ice has been a treasure, and I've strived to make it the best it could be for my teammates and those around me.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my parents. Your decision to lace up my skates when I was young set the stage for all that followed. Without your unwavering support throughout my entire career, none of this would have been possible. I can't begin to convey my gratitude for the time and effort you dedicated to making my dreams come true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To my family and friends, your unwavering support and love from day one have been my driving force. It's been a privilege to play the game I love, knowing that each of you played a vital role in getting me to this point. The entire community of IP has been with me from the beginning, and I'm grateful for your enduring support. Thank you!

To my brothers, you've been my steadfast companions on this journey. Traveling across the country to cheer me on and inspire me to become better every day I can't express enough gratitude for all the years of support. Playing for you has been a blessing, and the love and camaraderie we've shared are beyond words.

And now, to Mrs. B you've been my rock through thick and thin. Your constant encouragement to be the best version of myself, no matter the circumstances, has been truly exceptional. I've cherished the moments I've seen you in the stands, radiating happiness as I pursued my passion. I love you dearly, and I'm eagerly looking forward to our next chapter in this incredible journey called life.

While my playing days may be behind me, the dream is far from over. I believe there's much more to experience in life, and I'm excited about embracing new opportunities. Mr. Lord Stanley, I haven't forgotten about you; our paths may cross someday down the road. Until then, I'll be open to countless ideas about what's next on this exciting adventure."
