The Toronto Maple Leafs made some great moves this summer, but unfortunately, they weren't all great, and now, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe has made a statement with one of those big names.
Ryan Reaves officially benched by the Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs would eventually come away with a 6-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning in overtime, and perhaps that was a result of a major, long overdue move by Sheldon Keefe. During the game, off-season pickup Ryan Reaves was officially benched at the 12 minute mark in the second period with the Leafs down 4-1, and after that, the team outscored Tampa Bay 5-1 to pick up the win. Ryan Reaves hasn't taken a shift since the 12:01 mark of the 2nd period. Jarknrok mostly doubleshifting.

Will Reaves get back into the lineup this season?
Reaves was brought in by Toronto to be a physical enforcer for this talented group, but after refusing to answer the bell several times throughout the year, his play just didn't warrant staying on the ice. With the likes of Fraser Minten and Nick Robertson consistently not finding their way into the Maple Leafs lineups, getting Reaves off the fourth line and into the press box could be Toronto's best option going forward, but for now, it appears as though Keefe has made the move Leafs fans were waiting for.
