Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the Edmonton Oilers are very interested in acquiring one of the Canadiens' three goaltenders

The renowned Elliotte Friedman revealed on Sportsnet that the Montreal Canadiens' surplus of goalkeepers is raising questions about a possible imminent departure.

According to Friedman, the Edmonton Oilers are taking a close look at the Montreal goaltending situation, including Samuel Montembeault.

Nevertheless, Edmonton has no intention of taking any hasty measures to improve their situation in front of the net.

Montembeault's contract negotiations with the Habs are ongoing, but if no agreement is reached, a deal could become a reality, as Friedman suggested.
