We are finally there! After many months of waiting, the Canadiens training camp is coming up and we will finally be able to see our glorious players at work. In all, 74 players are invited to training camp, which is far from unanimous. The organization will most likely make some big cuts early on, as many of the invited players are certain to never play in the NHL. That's the opinion of former goalie coach Stephane Waite, who takes the insult to the injury: <q>« The veterans must not be happy for sure. You don't have time to waste on players you know will never play in Montreal. It's a big waste of time. - Stéphane Waite</q> However, if last year is any indication, a certain Arber Xhekaj was able to do enough to be offered a contract by Marc Bergevin. History could repeat itself. To conclude, Waite mentions that Martin St-Louis has his work cut out for him. He believes that some young players will deserve more ice time than some veterans and that it would be beneficial in the long run: <q>« Martin St. Louis' biggest challenge is to establish a culture for the years to come.
