Since the arrival of the Habs' new management, former Tampa Bay Lightning players are very well represented in the organization, thanks to Martin St-Louis and Vincent Lecavalier.

There were even rumors at one point of the possible addition of Brad Richards and Nikolai Khabibulin to the field hockey staff.

Following up on this trend, we learned from my colleague William Nadeau of Habs & NHL that another former Lightning player has joined the CH organization, via an article from The Athletic, which was reported by Charles-Alexis Brisebois.

This new addition is named Teddy Purcell and he has already completed a trio with Martin St-Louis and Vincent Lecavalier. The latter was even represented by Kent Hughes as an agent in his career, so there was another natural connection there.

From what we can read about him, Purcell would be considered a very good field hockey head, with a future as an executive. He is now a professional scout for the Montreal Canadiens and will be scouting primarily teams in the American West.

"From the first time I met him, I had been impressed with how much he followed field hockey, how much he followed other people's games." - Kent Hughes

So it's another big hire among the field hockey staff. There's no skimping on quality hires to improve the organization's effectiveness in unearthing talent.

The addition of Purcell will be used to evaluate talent in the National League, to get to know as much as possible about all the players in the NHL, to identify who could best fit the needs of the club.
