Today a new podcast interview with Hockey Hall of Famer Jeremy Roenick revealed an incident between himself and Connor Bedard at the Winter Classic in Chicago. The Winter Classic at Wrigley Field was a nightmare for the Chicago Blackhawks and Connor Bedard as they got blown out by the St. Louis Blues. Heading into the game the marquee matchup was supposed to be a key moment in Bedard's welcome to the NHL tour that has taken place over the last season and a half. Many were expecting Bedard to show out and be a superstar on the big stage and make a name for himself to a wider casual audience. Unfortunately for Bedard and the Blackhawks that was not the case as they were utterly dominated in every phase of the game leading Bedard to talk about the team's embarrassing effort during the post game.

Despite the disappointing result that was expected to be the end of the issues coming out of this Winter Classic for Bedard and the Blackhawks. Unfortunately, a new comment from NHL legend Jeremy Roenick has brought to light some potentially disrespectful actions from Bedard at Wrigley Field.
Jeremy Roenick torches Connor Bedard for disrespectful actions before Winter Classic
In a new podcast clip, Jeremy Roenick was discussing attending the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field. Roenick while discussing the Winter Classic confirmed several alumni including Chris Chelios were in attendance and almost every single current member of the Blackhawks came to say hello except for one crucial individual. Roenick reveals that Bedard was the only player to not approach the alumni out of the entire Blackhawks roster. All the players came up to me, [Chelios], and [Savard], except one, Roenick said. That was Connor Bedard If we don't have that respect to go up and fist bump, to say congratulations, how can you do it with your own teammates? Roenick continues on and reveals that he believes Bedard has a long way to go with his leadership if the Blackhawks are going to get back to being a Stanley Cup-level organization. In response to this story becoming public many are flipping things back on to Roenick for not understanding there are more important things for Bedard to be focused on.

This incident seems to have now created a debate over whether or not Roenick is overreacting or if he is properly upset about Bedard being disrespectful. As the season goes on one has to wonder if the Blackhawks will try to step in and smooth things out between Roenick and Bedard or just ignore Roenick's complaints.
