Last night, the Drummondville Voltigeurs announced that their prospect Francis Durocher had lost his battle with leukemia. The player was only 17 years old. The team had announced last March that Durocher was suffering from this cancer. The defenseman was drafted in the third round by the Voltigeurs in 2021 and played six games in the QMJHL that same year. He was currently playing with the Collège Charles-Lemoyne Riverains. We wish our most sincere condolences to the family and friends.

The Drummondville Voltigeurs organization is in mourning.

A few hours ago, the Reds' hopeful and Riverains du Collège Charles-Lemoyne defenseman, Francis Durocher, sadly passed away following his battle with Leukemia. pic.twitter.com/9CTwPfLHHU- Voltigeurs de Drummondville (@VoltigeursDRU) December 11, 2022
