As you know, the Montreal Canadiens have added a lot of young talent to their pool of prospects over the last few drafts. Normally, it always takes a few years before they land in the team's fold, and next year will be a big year for many of the organization's promising young players. If a few have already made the jump to professional hockey this season, we can think of Jan Mysak, Xavier Simoneau, William Trudeau, among others, there will be a massive wave of Canadiens prospects joining the Rocket for the next campaign. The Tricolore's roster has never been so full of interesting talent for the future of the club. We've already seen that prospects Sean Farrell, Jayden Struble and goaltender Jakub Dobes have ended their college careers to sign with the Habs, all of whom should be in Laval at the start of next season. Add to this the junior players who will finally be eligible to graduate to the AHL, including Joshua Roy, Riley Kidney, Logan Mailloux, and even Jared Davidson, who are all dominant players in their respective leagues. It is also possible, depending on his training camp, that the CH's second first-round pick in 2022, Filip Mesar, could break into the Rocket lineup, as he is exempt from having to automatically return to the OHL for next year. Also, among the European prospects, Emil Heineman has already made the jump to North America at the end of the season, he is playing some very big hockey right now, and there is a real possibility that the surprisingly talented defenseman Adam Engstrom will follow in the footsteps of his Swedish compatriot during the summer. Let's finish this by mentioning that depending on the developments and changes that will occur in Montreal during the off-season, it is not impossible to believe that the first overall pick of 2022, Juraj Slafkovsky, could start the year in Laval to better acclimatize to the game, he who missed several months of activity due to a serious injury. It's the same for Jesse Ylonen, who had his chance in the NHL this year, but with a full roster with the Tricolore, it's possible that there's no room for the Finn in Montreal to start the season, especially with Rafael Harvey-Pinard clearly ahead of him in the team's lineup. It will be nice to see the CH's club-school finally stocked with promising young talent, rather than having a lineup mostly composed of AHL veterans, as we've seen for many years. With all due respect to Brandon Gignac, Gabriel Bourque, Mitchell Stephens and others, it will be interesting to finally have a young up-and-comer building in the Habs organization.
