Now the verdict is in. MacKinnon will be out for four weeks.

This injury could have irreparable consequences for the defending Stanley Cup champions. By comparison, the Avalanche have just one more point than the Habs this season, good for fourth place in the Central Division. A playoff berth is far from a sure thing in their case.
